HUNKYDORY F/W13 - Stockholm Fashion Week
Balmain meets Isabel Marant?
The fabulous show opened up with the this look (see first picture) shown by Frida Gustavsson. I was a bit struck at first, as the look in question reminded me very much of a particular one of last year’s Isabel Marant looks. And on Frida too, her being an international model gave me a little bit of déjà vu. But don’t get me wrong, I was not dissapointed nor am negative to the similarity, because I adore Isabel Marant, and when the similar look was shown last year it was one of my absolute favorites, and still is to this day, which obviously makes me love this look as well.
It is obvious that Balmain and Isabel Marant are the main influences here. The ankle-jeans, the pointy heeled shoe, the western influences, the military influences, the drop-waist, black, white, burgundy and teal, the simple thin belts with embellishments with a western/eastern feel to them, the knits and not to mention the blazers and the cleanness of the cuts.
And Balmain and Isabel Marant being two of my favourite brands I found it so much fun watching the show. Having the influence of two of your favourite designers in a single brand at least gets my pulse racing. I can not get over how much I loved Hunkydory’s take on this seasons RTW.
(Note: there were so many lovely looks I wanted to include but sadly there is a ten + picture post restriction, to see the show in action and more looks check out Hunkydory’s official website)
